Center Vintgar is in an idyllic location, from where you can reach the valley of the Bistrica Creek in a few minutes and go on a 3-4 hour walk along the Bistrica Gorge. Among other things, it is possible to visit 2 waterfalls; the 13-meter-high Šum and the 6-meter-high Žleb, as well as the remains of Marolt’s fir, which was once considered the thickest fir in Slovenia.
In addition to the stunning nature, it is also possible to see the Roman Quarry, the archaeological site of a former Celtic fort, the Lorberk homestead, which has preserved its original appearance, and Štampohar’s mill.
